Grammar #1: Present Tense (due Tuesday, 8/30)
Go to a place where there are many people (such as a zoo, a hotel lobby,
a street corner) or just imagine yourself to be there. Describe what
you see. Let your reader "see" what you see by drawing a picture in
words. Use present tenses. Write one paragraph. Begin with a description
of what you are doing: I am sitting on a bench at the zoo...

I am walking upon a shore, between the sand and the foam. Many people are playing with wind that is passing their ears. Many children are building sandcastle far away and some people are singing a lovely song. A lot of white birds are flying between the sky and the sea. It's a beautiful scene.

Yesterday I was in a restaurant with my family and friends, and there was many people, but the people in there were too noisy. While some shouted, Laughed, others drank many margaritas and celebrated their birthday. By the time I enjoyed the time with my family and friends.

DeleteI am shopping at Hong Kong market . So many people are finding foods, fruits, drinks. There are many children are playing in the balls house with their parents. A few couples are eating ice dream and drinking green tea. It's very crowded in Hong Kong market.

I am on my way to school, I'm taking a train right now and I can see many people around me. One of the person in front of me is a woman who is talking with someone next to her but I can't hear about it is their conversation. Also I can see a man who is texting in his cellphone, he looks happy but I don't know why. In addition many people listen to music while they are looking for something on their phones. Finally I get my last station

I am sitting at the G. Bush airport lobby, Houston, TX to wait my family picking up. I go around to visit the airport,as this is bigger than my country's airport. This is a wonderful and huge airport that I ever seen.The officers at airport have a friendly smile to visitors and airplanes prepare fuel, pick-up visitors for the next flight.

DeleteLast summer I was in Dallas to visit my brother family.Next day after I arrived,we were at the park.It was nice weather because it was sunny day and not too hot.From his house to the park,we drove thirty minutes.That part is very bigger than the one I used to visit in my country.There were a lot of people at the park.Some was jogging and others were there with their kids for playing.I really enjoyed to be there played with my nephew and my niece because it was long time I have not visited them.

DeleteSometimes, I feel under pressure so I decide to go to the zoo to release stress. The zoo is very crowded. When I enter the gate, I see lots of monkeys are looked in cage and they are eating bananas. We should alert them because they are always obstreperous. They usually snatch few valuable items of visitors. I walk about 100 steps and it lead me to the giraffes cage. They have a long neck, so they are very tall. I see the giraffe mother borns the baby giraffe. Because the giraffe mother standing during childbirth, so the baby giraffle often falls to the ground from a height of about 2 meters, I think it's very hurt. Bye bye giraffles, I walk around the zoo about 10 minutes and I see the peacocks, they are fanning out their tails, very beautiful, but I think they are very haughty, just because they are pretty. Before the end of my trip, I want to see the tigers, because they are very ferocious and august. If we don't confine them carefully, they can escape from their cage, maul and make the visitors die. This is my interested trip, and I want go to the zoo again if I have free time.

DeleteThis writing is descriptive but I want you to look around and explain what you see using the present progressive. This paragraph is more of a narrative--telling a story as you keep walking through the zoo.
I'm sitting close to the beach of Galveston with my friend enjoying and eating lunch,I see many people, also you can see the kids swimming and playing ball or making design in sand ,the sun is too much hot you can feel it when you touch the sand.also you can look the wave hitting the person, I enjoy when I see the beach I feel like i m in another planet

I am going to the HCC library. I brought coffee and snacks to eat while I study. I walk into the 3rd floor library and see that all the seats are taken. I decide decide to walk up the stars and see if there are any available seats on the fourth floor. As soon as I get to the 4rth floor I see that there are many available seats and a chose to sit next to the windows so that I can enjoy the beautiful view. I am so happy to have finished class and work for the day and can enjoy the view while I practice and study grammar. I see students around me also studying and I am so glad that no one is being loud. The weather outside is bright and sunny and as I pick my head up to repeat and process what I am reading I wish the construction work in the HCC park is finished and that it wasn't this humid in Houston so I could actually go and study outside.
ReplyDeleteBut, still, I am happy enjoying the beautiful view and clear skies inside a quiet a conditioned library and learning a lot.
Three weeks ago, I went to Herman Park, there was a group of bizarre people wearing strange costumes and makeup, they were also playing some kind of Japanese music while walking slowly on the edge of a fountain while making weird noises and sounds. Those unusual actions surprised many including my two friends and several other people in the park. Personally, I thought that it was part of a stage act for their next play at the Hermann theater, and boy was I wrong. It turned out to be a bunch of unique people practicing some sort of Japanese culture or religion, this has extremely shocked me and my buddies.
ReplyDeleteI am standing in a fast food restaurant waiting to place my order.There is a lot of people who are waiting too.The cashier is smiling with every one ,and she welcome them too.The restaurant is very noisy because customers are talking.A group of student are laughing, a family has waited for their foods.and the employees are hurrying to make foods.This symbiosis is verh nice
ReplyDeleteI am sitting in a park right now. there are many people walking around. the weather is so nice, I am loving it. I am seeing in front of me a woman walking with her little pretty kid. she is smiling at me and saying hello to me. it is very nice to be in a park.

ReplyDeleteI am sitting on a floor in a Buffalo park, I am watching the people running, walking, making yoga and working out. In fact I come 2 times per week because it's close to my house.
ReplyDeletetoday is Sunday, i am in the beach, the most place that i prefer to enjoy the ocean and to relax in the sand. in this moment siting in the sand , i can smell the salt from the ocean and i can hear the waves crashing onto the shore in the same time i am watching the kids making beautiful sand castles in the moment when the sunset is covering all the ocean
